Ben has 5 years’ experience in New Zealand’s power industry working as a Power Systems Engineer. With a strong focus on secondary design, Ben has become proficient in SCADA design systems and automation. Previous work has included designing and staging RTU upgrades within substations and power stations, detailing transformer replacements at key sites around New Zealand and providing onsite commissioning support for SCADA and RTU replacements for Transpower.
Sarah Velluppillai joined Mitton ElectroNet to re-start her career after maternity leave and spending time with her, then, young children. Sarah, who graduated from the University of Canterbury, has just over three years’ experience in the transmission industry - predominantly on Transpower projects. Her experience includes primary and secondary preliminary and detailed design as well as project management.
Hans is a Principal Engineer within the Mitton ElectroNet’s Transmission Team and has a wide range of experience in the Transmission & Distribution industries. Hans undertakes project management, primary, secondary and communications design with specialist knowledge in power system protection. A qualified Electrical Engineer with his Masters in Electrical Power and Energy Systems, Hans possesses a robust experiential background of more than two decades in electrical system design, power system protection, substation automation, automatic analysis systems and automatic control systems
Pheab joined Mitton ElectroNet in 2018, prior to completing his B.E (Hons) at the University of Canterbury Pheab was a registered electrician with broad experience in the LV sector, servicing clients in New Zealand and abroad. His passion for all things electrical led him to a career in the power industry and he is currently working with the distribution team, assisting in secondary circuit design and protection settings.
Dylan joined Mitton ElectroNet’s Distribution Team as an Assistant Engineer in early 2018 shortly after moving to New Zealand from Ireland. Dylan is a qualified Electrical & Electronic Engineer holding a BEng (Hons) degree from the National University of Ireland, Galway. He brings with him 3 years’ experience as an Engineer in the electronic solutions sector and a range of skills including electrical & electronic design, project & people management and a keen interest in the power systems industry.
Matt is a Chartered Professional Engineer, with over 15 years of extensive detailed design, project management and leadership experience in the High Voltage power industry. Matt joined Mitton ElectroNet after gaining much of this experience from different consultancies around the world. Matt is passionate about developing cost effective and technical robust solutions for the power networks in Australasia. Matt has a strong commercial understanding of the electricity network, project performance and is able to provide the best solution within regulatory limits.
Cham is a Chartered Professional Engineer with IEAust and has nine years of experience in the mining, transmission and distribution sectors in New Zealand and Australia, on both the client and consultant sides. Since joining Mitton Electronet, Cham has been heavily involved in project management and detailed design. Cham’s portfolio of projects includes 33kV outdoor to indoor conversions, substation HV asset replacements, protection upgrades and feasibility studies for various transmission and distribution clients in both New Zealand and Australia.
Michael entered the transmission industry in 2009 and has experience in both the UK and NZ. He has focused on project engineering and has been the technical lead on numerous substation projects, on both the client and consultant sides. Michael has a strong primary engineering base and has continued to broaden his expertise, across both secondary design and project management.
Nineb joined the team at MEL in early 2017, after completing his Bachelor of Engineering Technology (BEngTech) degree at the Ara Institute of Canterbury. Taking on the role of Assistant Engineer, Nineb has been involved in a number of Transpower-related projects, focusing mainly on substation secondary design and SMS upgrades.
Hamish has re-joined the Mitton ElectoNet Generation Team, having since returned from working abroad for an international engineering consultant.
